Professional Fees
Professional rates for Red Deer counselling fees are in keeping with the national average. For persons and families in lower income brackets, a sliding scale may be available upon request.
Counselling Fees
Rates:
A 50 minute session (1 unit) for individual is $180 - $200; relationship counselling is $180 - $200. Any additional time (mutually agreed upon) is calculated in .5 unit intervals and prorated accordingly.
Telephone or On-Line (Video) Counselling:
Outside of Red Deer and Canada - including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Europe & the United Kingdom, remote counselling is available. This option may be chosen if necessary and appropriate, depending on the client's needs. The regular rates apply.
Sessions are scheduled according to client need and counsellor availability.
Somatic Energy Psychology - Clinical Meridian Tapping
Somatic energy psychology consists of Clinical Meridian Tapping (a version of Emotional Freedom Techniques). Sessions are normally scheduled for 60 - 90 minutes in duration, at a cost of $180 - $200 per hour. Any additional time per sesion (mutually agreed upon) is calculated in 30 minute intervals and prorated accordingly.
Insurance
Many health insurance plans cover the cost of counselling with a Master Practitioner of Clinical Counselling, i.e. a professional counsellor or psychotherapist. Check your insurance policy to see if counselling with a "registered professional counsellor" or "registered professional psychotherapist" is covered. A "registered professional counsellor or psychotherapist" is not the same as a "registered psychologist." The following are some of the insurance companies/EAPs that have covered registered professional counsellors in the past;
Blue Cross, Great West Life, Manulife, Homewood Human Solutions, Shepell FGI Holman Group, WorkSafe BC, Community Living BC, Green Shield, PPCCanada and Sunlife.
Missed Appointments:
A minimum of 48 hours notice is required if appointments are to be rescheduled or cancelled. Otherwise charges for the planned duration apply.
